Kelly Family Chicago Portraits

Let me introduce you to the beautiful Kelly family. Their family takes a trip into Chicago every fourth of July and takes a portrait. I am so blessed to be chosen this year! We met on Rush and then walked over to Dearborn. Aren't they absolutely stunning?

Kelly Family Sneak Peek

Full post tomorrow, but just because I finished editing on time to go to small group... I leave you with this one frame. Straight out of the camera from the Kelly family.

Remy and Alex: Chicago Engagement Pictures! (and a little bit of Evanston :-)

Yay! I love hearing lots of feedback from a fun sneak peek and being able to quickly follow up with the full post. Let me introduce you to Alex and Remy! They met on a boating trip where Remy pushed Alex into the water. He, of course, pulled her in after. And I’m pretty sure it was love from there :-) They are absolutely so sweet together, and I cannot wait to capture their wedding in Joliet in August. For their engagement pictures we met at the STUNNING Union Station downtown. This is totally embarrassing to admit, but I had never been inside. The Grand Hall is, well you’ll see in a second, absolutely grandiose and gorgeous! Plus there was tons of natural light even though we were inside. (Which is a fantastic alternative for outdoor shoots on sunny afternoons, by the way!) We meandered downtown a bit and then drove up to the Grosse Point Lighthouse in Evanston. I hope you end up loving these two as much as I do!

That's it for today, but you should head over to “like” my facebook page and check out my website.

Fun with Marc! (Chicago Headshots/Lifestyle Shoot)

You might remember Marc from Marc & Rebekah… we got together last weekend to take some headshots for him down at the museum campus. This is quickly becoming one of my favorite areas to shoot. If you ever want a giggle, head down there on a Saturday at dusk. You will see a gaggle of wedding parties, quincioneras, proms, engagement couples, and tourists. I think this probably has something to do with it being one of the best skyline views of the city, plus you have the lake… okay I’m getting distracted. Last Tuesday I brought you Marc’s sneak peek. With the same sentiment, I’d love to welcome you back to a short work week with this goodness.

Rebekah came along to help style, give Marc pointers, and make faces at him during the shoot. I cannot vouch for any of it being PG ;-)

I’ll be back tomorrow with Remy and Alex’s full engagement post! If you want more today, head over to “like” my facebook page or inquire through my website (because everyone needs a good headshot!).

marriage

Today’s post is going to be a little bit different. I want to share with you from the first four months of our marriage. Firstly, I can’t believe it’s already been 119 days. Time flies. So much has happened for both of us in this time, it is truly incredible. Wil had been doing some work for this really cool company called Tap.Me and came on full time as their CTO right after we got back from the honeymoon. I started the wedding season strong a month after we got back, and it seems we’ve both been nonstop since. I won’t lie to you, marriage is really hard. There is a LOT that “they” don’t tell you. But honestly, there’s a lot I don’t think I would have understood even if I’d been told. Shoot, I led with the marriage is hard bit. Well, marriage is also really awesome. I want to be clear about that. Marrying Wil is absolutely the best decision I’ve made to date. Waking up next to him in the morning is absolutely the best start to any day that I could imagine. Yes, we have a TON of learning and growing to do. But the thing is, I feel like we grow by leaps and bounds every day. We have to learn to fight better, communicate better (which will probably help with everything else too), and serve each other better. But the really cool thing is that we get to do all of these things together! Because no post is complete without at least one picture, this is one from our engagement session. I hadn’t really loved this image when we first got the pictures back, but it really seems to resonate with me today.

I hope you have an amazing holiday weekend! And I can’t wait to see you again on Tuesday :-)
