Julia + Andy = Engaged! (part 2)

So last week you saw the first part of Julia and Andy's engagement pictures. we were rained out the first day, so we decided to go ice skating at Millennium Park the following weekend, also Julia's idea. She's kind of brilliant! We met at Buckingham Fountain, which is where Andy proposed. These are just a few of my favorites from the day. Enjoy :-)
Isn't her yellow sapphire GORGEOUS? we used the same designer. (ps you can see my ring here)

I had the pleasure of taking head shots for Jeff back in the summer for his new website....and it's finally up! Check it out HERE! I love clicking to a page and seeing my pictures right front and center. I love his new logo and design work too, both from the lovely Shereen.

Happy Wednesday all :-)

legally married

The saturday before our wedding (2/27/11) my dad came in town to swap out some furniture that I had at home and take some things home that I no longer needed. And because of some frustrating waiting period laws in Texas, he legally married us. There is a 72 hour waiting period in Texas after you get the marriage license before you can sign it, and we weren't getting down to Texas until late Thursday night. 72 hours after Friday and we were already in Mexico on the honeymoon. This just wouldn't work. So, we decided to do the paperwork and be legally married in Chicago before leaving for the wedding and honeymoon. My Dad was so kind and wrote the sweetest simplest vows for us.
Isn't he so cute? These are the vows. I loved them.
With great joy, through the agape love of Christ, and the power of the Holy Spirit, I take you Wil, to be my husband, until we see Christ face to face.
I'm all curled up because I was sick as a dog.
(perks of getting married at home, you can be sitting on the couch if need be)
making it official, yo.

Julia + Andy = Engaged! (part 1)

My lovely friend Julia got engaged back in October to the very sweet Andy. And I had the pleasure of taking their engagement pictures just before leaving town for my wedding. It was pouring, so we did the inside pictures the first day we had planned. And the following week we took the outside pictures. I hope you enjoy our adventure!

Julia and Andy both grew up in Chicago and Julia has always loved the Field Museum and wanted to take pictures there...seriously can you think of a more fun photo shoot location?

so...more to come soon... but until then you can see more pictures of julia and andy (and order prints if you'd like) here (password: chciagolove). and you can find more of my pictures on my official photography website here!
