Sarah's Texas Bridals

On a beautiful Friday morning, (aka 5 days ago) I flew down to Texas to meet up with my stunning bride for the weekend and shoot her bridals. Sarah is a dear friend, a wonderful woman. I am so blessed to know her and get to meet some of her kindred spirits this last weekend. We stayed at this amazing B&B and I thought we'd have to go exploring to find a good location to shoot...but honestly we just stayed on the property. If you're wedding planning in Texas, you should very seriously consider this place. The woman who owns it is so incredibly kind, and as you're about to see, the grounds are beautiful. Back to the story though, I flew in on Friday, took these bridals, drove to the closest town to print them on Saturday before shooting the family dinner, and then have them displayed at the wedding on Sunday! Family/rehearsal dinner and wedding pictures to follow :-) It was a jam packed weekend, but I didn't feel any of that stress while we were taking these portraits. Sarah is a joy to be around, and we had an absolute blast! Oh and yes, her dress is gorgeous.

Bridget and Andy: A Chicago Engagement

Let me introduce you to the lovely Bridget and the very handsome Andy. They are such a sweet couple! We had rescheduled a couple times because of rain, but finally found our bright sunshine filled day :-) They are getting married in Pittsburgh and I was lucky enough to take some fun engagement pictures of them a few weeks ago. These are just a few of my favorites, enjoy!

Aren't they a lovely couple?!

Bucket List and My Mother Skydiving

I'm having a really hard time starting this post. I want to tell you all about how awesome my mom is, how many cool things she's done and continues to do, and how many people she loves so well. But this isn't really about all of that. This is about dreams. Last weekend, I was able to see one of her dreams become a reality. Ever since she was a little girl, my mother has wanted to go skydiving. Throughout her life she has parasailed and many other adventurous things...but nothing has quite measured up to this dream. I was scrolling through Living Social a couple weeks before our wedding, and saw a deal for skydiving. I had been debating for quite a while what to get for Mom and Dad for helping with the wedding and didn't really love any of the options. This was definitely it. Somehow, I'm still not really sure of this, but somehow we were able to keep it a secret until our wedding weekend. This is how excited Betsy was when she found out on the morning of our wedding.

We set it up for them to come up over the weekend of the 4th of July and jump. It was supposed to be Mom, Dad, Bets, and Wil. But sadly, Wil wasn't able to jump because of his hard cast. So just Mom, Dad, and Betsy went...these are a few pictures from their day. (please keep reading...there's more important stuff after the pictures!)

The joy that was radiating from my mother when she got back that night overwhelmed the rest of us. And it's honestly made me think about dreams and goals I have (and no one of them is definitely not jumping out of a plane). I don't have anything concrete to tell you here right now, but I wanted to make sure you are thinking about your dreams and goals too. What are you doing to make them a reality?

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend! I am going to be offfline, shooting bridals and a wedding in Texas :-)
