Bucket List and My Mother Skydiving

I'm having a really hard time starting this post. I want to tell you all about how awesome my mom is, how many cool things she's done and continues to do, and how many people she loves so well. But this isn't really about all of that. This is about dreams. Last weekend, I was able to see one of her dreams become a reality. Ever since she was a little girl, my mother has wanted to go skydiving. Throughout her life she has parasailed and many other adventurous things...but nothing has quite measured up to this dream. I was scrolling through Living Social a couple weeks before our wedding, and saw a deal for skydiving. I had been debating for quite a while what to get for Mom and Dad for helping with the wedding and didn't really love any of the options. This was definitely it. Somehow, I'm still not really sure of this, but somehow we were able to keep it a secret until our wedding weekend. This is how excited Betsy was when she found out on the morning of our wedding.

We set it up for them to come up over the weekend of the 4th of July and jump. It was supposed to be Mom, Dad, Bets, and Wil. But sadly, Wil wasn't able to jump because of his hard cast. So just Mom, Dad, and Betsy went...these are a few pictures from their day. (please keep reading...there's more important stuff after the pictures!)

The joy that was radiating from my mother when she got back that night overwhelmed the rest of us. And it's honestly made me think about dreams and goals I have (and no one of them is definitely not jumping out of a plane). I don't have anything concrete to tell you here right now, but I wanted to make sure you are thinking about your dreams and goals too. What are you doing to make them a reality?

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend! I am going to be offfline, shooting bridals and a wedding in Texas :-)
